The Boston Red Sox are putting more distance between them and the rest of the American League East, thanks to the play of Mike Napoli. Napoli caught fire in two straight games on September 6th and 7th versus the division trailing New York Yankees. He went five of eight from the plate, with a double, seven RBI’s, and three home runs. Napoli lead the Red Sox to a 5-2 record for the week by producing ten hits, scoring seven runs, hitting two doubles, and rocketing four home runs. This kind of performance is the reason for Napoli’s continual excess value (XVAL) growth.
